Here we go again. Both Jim and I have been really itching to travel and we thought this day would never get here. I really am one of the luckiest people in the world who has a spouse who likes to travel as much as I do.
Our bucket list has had Australia and New Zealand on it for years. We kept putting it off for one reason or another. Usually it was because of the dreaded airplane flight. 19 hours! Are you kidding me? We say we are going to go and then we find someplace else to explore instead.
We just about talked ourselves out of it this time but we both realized that we are only getting older, the trip is still the same amount of miles (Australia hasn't moved closer for sure) and we found a great cruise this time that will bring us back to the United States so we only have to fly one way!
We leave LAX at 10 pm Tuesday and arrive in Melbourne, Australia on THURSDAY at noon! So hopefully we will sleep, eat, read, watch movies, stretch our legs and then repeat the process a couple of more times before we land. We plan on spending the rest of Thursday at the hotel and then we are off and running on Friday and Saturday. We have a couple of must-sees from 1000 Places to See Before You Die book and then on the cruise ship.
We will keep in touch with great stories or major faux pas during the 40 days we are gone. Most of our time will be on the cruise ships so we shouldn't get into too much trouble. Here is our itinerary and everyone please take care, be safe and we will talk soon!
