A few of our daughters have asked us to post some of the wonders of NYC. In fact we have been challenged to stay up until midnight to experience the real wonders of New York. That we might not be able to do.

Today our goal was to take the Uptown Bus Tour. Yesterday we took the Downtown Bus Tour and we wanted to catch the museums today. Our other goal was to experience the "tastes" of New York (per Maren).

Well do bacon, eggs and pancakes served at a small diner count? That was our breakfast before we headed out on the bus tour. You could smell the bacon cooking a block away as it wafted through the air. It lead us directly to the diner and we had a great breakfast.

After touring the Uptown for awhile we hopped off at the Guggenheim Museum. We marveled at the design of this very modern museum. Upon leaving a street vendor was selling what appeared to be Diet Coke so we bought one. We have no idea if it really was Diet Coke, it tasted like it, but we wanted to try new things so we got one.

We walked a few blocks to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the aroma and smell of NYC hot dogs just got to us! We had to have one a piece--loaded with tons of mustard and ketsup! That was the best hot dog I have ever had. Of course I needed to sit to eat it and was soon kicked off the steps of the Met for sitting on them.

We toured the Met for about an hour and saw many of the Masters. We left and walked through Central Park and saw all the street performers and children sailing their remote control boats in the water. Tired of walking we got back on the Uptown Bus and headed back to Times Square.

Of course there is nothing in the world that can compare with Times Square except maybe Piccadilly Square in London. People, food, souvenirs, taxi's, people, food, sourvenirs and taxis. What a place to be.

We headed to our Hotel to put up our feet when Brazillian music led us directly to a street fair! There was food and dancing and more food. We got a stick of beef and a cold can of Diet Coke. Both were delicious and the vendor told us tomorrow there will be 3 million people there. I hope not!

We are planning to head back to Times Square tonight for our night bus tour of Manhattan and then will stay in Times Square for a bit. Maybe we will make it to midnight yet!

Ohhh *sniff sniff*, I'm so proud of you guys...all grown up, staying up till midnight in NYC. Seriously, it's crazy.
It sounds like you had a FABULOUS day! No, this post doesn't make me jealous...it make me want to go to NYC SOON! It's been too long already.
P.S...I see you were at Columbus Circle (the first picture)...did you realize you were VERY close to the Manhattan Temple? If you're not looking for it, it's easy to miss.
