Fajitas! Muy bueno!

Jim and I have always wanted to walk out onto the Ile de la Cite’ that sits in the middle of the Seine. Whenever we have walked on either the left bank or the right bank of Paris we can see people out at the very tip but have never seen how they got there. Until today…..
We decided to head over to our favorite Mexican food restaurant that we found 3 years ago and by the way it is still delicious. We aren’t talking enchiladas, tacos and tostados but very tasty chicken fajitas, guacamole, chips and salsa. After a delicious meal we headed out on our quest to get over to the island and get to the tip of the island.

We found the bridge that would lead us there, Pont Neuf, (the oldest bridge from 1578 crossing the widest part of the river Seine) and walked down many stairs (by the way for those who have asked I believe I have the answer to my patella tendonitis, the Cho-Pat knee brace. So far so good) and entered a tiny park right at the tip of the island.

We sat for awhile and walked out to the tip (behind the big tree) watching all the sunbathers taking in the afternoon sun. I guess women don’t worry about swimsuits; they just sunbathe in their bras.

After a couple of hours we headed back to our apartment via the hot metro. The weather has been great but I tell you that down in the metro it is HOT and humid. And still women and men dress as though it is winter with a sweater over a shirt and a jacket over the sweater. Silly Parisians!

Our 2 person elevator that takes us up the 7 floors to our apartment. Though it is tiny it does the trick!

Vicki,
Okay let's say we had crepes with chicken and fresh sauteed vegetables, sprinkled with creme fraiche, adorned with finely diced crudites.See it's all in the way we present it. Food is food wherever it is; some call it mexican, some call it french and some call it italian! Love you mon ami!
