Just wanted to give a dinner report. We have passed by a Fondue restaurant every day we walk. Tonight we decided to visit it. Of course no one speaks English to explain the process so we ordered "cheese" fondue and "beef" fondue. They brought out cast iron pots; one with melted cheese and one with hot oil.
They have little table top grills and the pots went on top of those grills. Then the meat had 3 sauces; thousand island, ranch of some sort and mayonnaise with some herbs.
We enjoyed the cheese and bread very much. The beef was not the finest quality so it was a bit tough. We were careful to not transfer raw meat to those things we were eating but we soon noticed that we were the ONLY ones. The rest of the plates came out with salad, baked potato and raw filets of beef. Those people just put their beef right on the grill with their fork, ate their salad with the same fork and put the cooked meat on the same plate as the raw meat. Not one soul in the entire restaurant was concerned with raw meat intermixing.
I enjoyed the experience, Jim didn't like the beef at all. He now swears he will become a vegetarian the rest of the time here. We finished our dinner with a creme brulee and then went and found a Nutella crepe! The best!

Perhaps we Americans need to relax a bit so we can better enjoy our food! Like the French.
Maybe instead of full vegetarianism, you can just become bovitarians, no?
