We had such a nice, quiet day today. After yesterday's exhausting tour we decided to take it really easy and do nothing but what we wanted to do and see. Tomorrow we are up early to see Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick Castle and Cotswold's. It will be a very long day so today had to be restful.
After lunch at our favorite noodle place, Wagamama, we walked for a bit to sit at the park and people watch. We headed in the direction of the trees & park and found a cut through that would lead us to Kensington Park and Palace. We wondered if we should be on this particular street since there were posted signs of "No Photography" and "No Parking". I guess the biggest give away was all the armed police officers.
But since we weren't the only walkers there and since no one stopped us we continued on. We soon saw flags from different nations hanging in the front of these beautiful homes. I guess we had unintentionally landed on Embassy Row! No wonder there were armed guards and police everywhere.
We soon found our way into the park and just sat on a bench and people watched. So many different cultures and people from everywhere were enjoying the nice, cool day at the park. We watched a family play stick ball, families walking with children and babies and couples just going on with their day.
By the way I finally figured out what the beautiful building our room looks out over. It is the Royal Albert Hall which has been in use since the late 1800's. So many famous people have performed there or lectured there. I have wondered what it was since we got to our room and finally found it today!
We ended a perfect day with a great bowl of hot and sour soup and chicken satay. Not too much but just the right ending for a great day.
