Our Ship Has Arrived by Jim
Oh Boy—today’s the big day—we get to board our cruise ship! We tried to sleep in, but there’s a lot to get done today. We first go to our local Krispy Kreme outlet and ordered up some doughnuts for breakfast. They have free wifi so can get some work done too. Except, their wifi isn’t working today for some reason—so it’s back to Hungry Jack’s for some free wifi. We needed to finish uploading pictures from yesterday.
The free City Circle tram IS running today so we hop on it for a trip to the Queen Victoria Market (which was closed on Friday). This place was like a huge outdoor market selling just about anything you could want. A few trinkets is all we need and we’re back on the tram for home. As long as we’re out, we might as well stop by Nando’s!
So we made arrangements with the hotel to get a late checkout. We received an email from the cruise line stating that the cruise terminal was very small and limited in resources and therefore they would be boarding the ship by cabin class. Of course we travel in the Inside cabins and therefore, the lowest class. We were to board at 4pm and the ship leaves at 5pm. So we stayed at the hotel until 2pm until we couldn’t stand it anymore and we had to go to the ship. The taxi ride took 10 minutes and we were there. We walked in—no crowds, no lines—we showed them our papers and walked right on board the ship. The easiest and fasted check-in we have ever had!
